AdviserPlus is proud to have successfully renewed our Disability Confident Leader status. This means we continue to be recognised at the highest level of the Disability Confident scheme, reflecting our ongoing commitment to building an inclusive, supportive workplace and championing disability confidence in everything we do.

Disability Confident Leader logoTo achieve Disability Confident status, employers commit to five key areas and take practical action to make a real difference for disabled people in the workplace.

1 – Inclusive and accessible recruitment processes

We focus on making our recruitment process as fair, accessible and inclusive as possible from the very first interaction. That includes:

  • Providing inclusion training for interviewers to help prevent discrimination
  • Making job adverts clear and accessible
  • Offering information and applications in alternative formats where needed

Everyone deserves an equal opportunity to apply for a role and showcase their potential. By removing unnecessary barriers, we widen access to talent and ensure candidates are assessed on their skills and experience – not on how well they can navigate a one‑size‑fits‑all process.

We also make key content more accessible by including British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation on our webinars and videos, helping ensure more people can engage with our insights and opportunities to learn more about what we do.

2 – Promoting vacancies to encourage applications from disabled people

We actively encourage applications from disabled candidates by:

  • Advertising vacancies through a range of channels
  • Displaying our Disability Confident badge
  • Working with Jobcentre Plus to reach a broader pool of talent

Visibility matters. By being open and proactive about our commitment to inclusion, we help people feel confident applying and reassure candidates that they’ll be treated fairly and supported throughout the process.

3 – Offering an interview to disabled people if they meet the minimum requirements

Where a disabled candidate meets the essential criteria for a role and chooses to disclose their disability, we offer them an interview so they can demonstrate their skills, strengths and potential.

This commitment isn’t about preferential treatment – it’s about opportunity. It helps build confidence, encourages applications, and ensures talented people don’t miss out simply because of assumptions or barriers earlier in the process.

4 – Provide reasonable adjustments as required

All employers have a duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make ‘reasonable adjustments’ in the workplace where a disabled person would otherwise be put at a substantial disadvantage compared with their colleagues. We work with individuals to understand what adjustments might help them perform at their best, whether during recruitment or in the workplace.

Adjustments can be simple, practical changes, and many cost very little or nothing at all. Where additional support is needed, Access to Work funding may be available for disabled employees. The right support enables people to thrive, contribute fully, and feel confident and valued at work.

5 – Supporting any existing employee who acquires a disability or long term health condition

We’re committed to supporting colleagues who develop a disability or long‑term health condition during their time with us, helping them stay in work wherever possible. This includes flexibility, ongoing conversations, and tailored support as needs change.

We also take practical action to create opportunities for disabled people through initiatives such as:

  • Work experience and work trials
  • Apprenticeships and paid employment
  • Job shadowing, traineeships and internships
  • Student placements and sector‑based work academy placements

Retaining valuable skills, knowledge and relationships within the business shows that we support our people long term.

Being a Disability Confident Leader is a key part of what makes AdviserPlus a great place to work. It reflects our commitment to fair recruitment, meaningful support, and an inclusive culture where colleagues with disabilities or long‑term health conditions can succeed, develop and feel genuinely supported.
