Colleague spotlight: CRPS awareness month
Shining a light on invisible conditions – Nicola’s story
As part of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) Awareness Month and Disability Awareness Month, we’re proud to share a special colleague spotlight that highlights the importance of understanding and supporting invisible conditions in the workplace.
This month, we sat down with Nicola Turner, Senior HR Adviser at AdviserPlus, to talk about her experience of living with CRPS; a rare, chronic pain condition that affects the nervous system. Through her journey, she offers valuable insight into the challenges many people face behind the scenes, and the meaningful impact that empathy, flexibility and good workplace support can have.
At AdviserPlus, we’re committed to creating an environment where colleagues feel heard, valued and empowered. Nicola’s experience is a powerful reminder of why understanding individual needs and removing barriers, whether visible or not, truly matters.
You can read Nicola’s full story in this ‘Colleague Spotlight’ below, where she opens up about her diagnosis journey, how she manages her condition day-to-day and the support that has helped her continue to thrive both personally and professionally.
