The Parental Bereavement (Leave and Pay) Act 2018 comes into force on 6 April 2020 and is designed to give employees the time off to grieve following the tragedy of the death of a child under 18 or a still birth after 24 weeks of pregnancy.

It is important that in advance of that date you and your people understand this statutory right to time off, your employees are clear what they need to do to exercise this right and your people managers are well equipped to deal with requests sensitively and appropriately.

In this webinar Sarah Robinson, Technical HR Consultant at AdviserPlus, provides further information and practical tips on:

  • Who is entitled to Statutory Parental Bereavement Leave
  • Who is entitled to Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay
  • Employment rights and returning to work following Statutory Parental Bereavement Leave
  • Next steps you should be considering now to prepare your business for when the Act comes into force
